Bud Lite Boycott -- April 17, 2023

Locator: 44001P.

Updates

April 22, 2023: truly a sad day the way D. C. Stephenson's minions forced Alissa Heinerscheid out of her job. Truly a sad, sad day. I thought Americans were a bit more welcoming. I thought wrong. Fox News was quick to report the Bud Lite story but I've not seen Fox News report the Dominion story. Most interesting: has Donald Trump weighed in on the Bud Lite story or the Dominion story. Has Tucker addressed the Dominion story? Does anyone know where Trump stands with regard to Bud Lite? We know where Ron DeSantis stands. He's now endorsing a non-Bud Lite beer.

 Original Post

I may be wrong, but from my perspective, the Bud Lite Boycott has become politicized with one party clearly acting as if it supports the boycott because a spokesperson for the brand apparently self-identifies as something other than "traditional" male or female.

In the 1850s to 1950s in this country, the spokesperson would have been the target of the Ku Klux Klan.

In Germany, in the 1920s to the 1940s, the spokesperson would have been the target of "Brown Shirts" and the Nationalist Socialist Party.

The article below, based on the headline, also completely misses the point.

If a political party supports the boycott -- and I don't know if any party does -- that party would be seen by some as another example of "a party of hate."

From Barron's and here:

Barron's
also misses the point, and the current Bud trans issue is only a week or so old. Let's see how Bud Lite sales are doing in a year.

Another hater:

He would have felt right at home with D.C. Stephensoon.

These guys all need to read Timothy Egan's Fever in the Heartland: The Ku Klux Klan's Plan to Take Over America and The Woman Who Stopped Them, c. 2023.
